EDMONTON – The Edmonton Rush filled in most of their roster for the 2012 National Lacrosse League season on Wednesday.
Edmonton signed nine players to contracts, including star forwards Corey Small and Jimmy Quinlan.
“Both Corey and Jimmy are two of our key players heading into a very important season,” said Rush general manager/head coach Derek Keenan. “We have a number of new faces coming in but to have both of these guys back is critical to achieving our goals for the 2012 season.”

Small led Edmonton with 23 goals and 40 assists last season. He also picked up 58 loose balls.
Quinlan is the Rush’s all-time leader in scoring and games played. He is the last original member of the team, with 213 points in 103 regular-season games. He’s only missed one game in Edmonton’s six-year history.
Both forwards were signed to one-year deals.
The Rush also announced the signing of defender Brett Mydske to a three-year contract.
“Brett is a big part of the Edmonton Rush foundation so signing him to a long term deal is very important to the future of the franchise,” said Keenan. “He is a top young defender in the NLL and will only get better. Brett is very committed to the success of this team.
“Every game he is responsible for checking the leagues best offensive players and he consistently limits production, he’s a very complete player.”
Edmonton also signed Alex Turner, Brodie McDonald, Tyler Codron, Dane Stevens, John Lintz and Eric Lewthwaite to one-year deals.
