TORONTO – If you’re wondering what to get the lumbersexual in your life but just aren’t inspired by yet another flannel button-up, you’re in luck. Beard accessories are the thing this hipster holiday season.
Despite warnings of “peak beard,” the rising popularity of facial hair is undeniable. So much so that companies are cashing in with beard accessories for the mountain men in your life.
“Worldwide, we are at the height of facial hair,” said Allan Peterkin, a Toronto psychiatrist and author of One Thousand Beards: A Cultural History of Facial Hair.
Beard Baubles, those mini Christmas tree-like accessories for beards, are so popular, the company can’t keep up with demand. “Due to phenomenal demand, Beard Baubles are currently out of stock. Apologies,” reads the product website.
The U.K. company hopes to have more stock added over the next week. All proceeds from the sales go to Beard Season, which aims to educate and motivate men on getting checked for skin cancer.

If you had your heart set on Beard Baubles and now are in desperate need of a different gift, beard clippers and grooming kits are widely available in Canada. Grooming products, such as beard oil, balm, and conditioner make great stocking stuffers for the man who prefers his beard expertly coiffed.
You could also make your own beard accessories, perhaps a winter version of summer’s “facial flower crowns” that popped up on social media.
But what about the gents who can’t seem to get beyond a five-o’clock shadow? They don’t need to feel left out, not when crochet “beard hats” exist.
