Police investigate 2 pedestrian vehicle collisions due to weather

HALIFAX – Police are investigating two pedestrian vehicle accidents that took place during the height of  Wednesday night’s storm.

The first occurred around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when a 48 year old woman was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Henry and Watt streets. She was taken to hospital for assessment, but wasn’t seriously injured.

The 41-year old man driving the vehicle was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian.

The second incident happened at 9:50 p.m. outside the Halifax Shopping Centre when a 22-year old woman was hit by a large white vehicle, possibly an SUV. She was accessed by EHS, but was not taken to hospital.

Police say the vehicle didn’t stop after the accident, and are asking anyone with information to call police or Crime Stoppers.
