SALMON ARM — He destroyed a family business and today a Salmon Arm man is paying the price.
A little more than a year ago, Adam Michael Schultz, 39, set fire to Pedro’s Fruit Stand – burning the Salmon Arm landmark to the ground.
Schultz was an employee who was also suspected of stealing cash from the business and subsequently charged with theft and arson.
In Salmon Arm court Monday, Schultz was sentenced to two years for the arson and an additional six months for the theft.
He was also ordered to pay $7,000 restitution.
Pedro’s Fruit Stand re-opened last April.
