WINNIPEG — Manitoba RCMP officers have a faster and safer way to hand out tickets to drivers on Manitoba highways, they say.
All officers need to do is swipe the licence in their cruiser and the information is automatically populated in their computer and shared electronically with other departments.

The RCMP hope the new practice reduces human error associated with officers filling out paperwork themselves.
The new process means shorter traffic stops and getting the officer back on the road to stop more speeders and unsafe drivers, RCMP said.
The technology is the first of its kind in Manitoba and makes the province the third in Canada to adapt this system.
