Prince Albert police say mitten thief arrested

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – A mitten thief was arrested this week in Saskatchewan. Officers charged a man they believe is responsible for an armed robbery over the weekend in Prince Albert, Sask.

On the night of Nov. 29, police spoke to a 38-year-old man who claimed he was approached by a man who produced a used needle. The suspect was known to the victim.

The victim complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over his money and his mitts. No injuries were reported.

The 40-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday and made his first court appearance Wednesday in Prince Albert. He is facing charges of robbery, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.
