Train derails in Manitoba’s Whiteshell Provincial Park

WINNIPEG – Canadian National Railway crews were cleaning up a train derailment in Manitoba’s Whiteshell Provincial Park Wednesday morning.

There are no dangerous goods in the 12 train cars that derailed at about 5 p.m. Tuesday near Brereton Lake, a CN spokesman said Wednesday morning.

Crews were dispatched to clean up the site and restored service on the railway line at 8:30 a.m., he said.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation.

Brereton Lake is 115 kilometres east of Winnipeg.
