WATCH: Opponents of a proposed Fraser Valley hazardous waste plant say a court loss today won’t stop their efforts. Linda Aylesworth reports.
Environmental activists battling a proposed hazardous waste treatment plant in Chilliwack have lost a court battle, but say their fight is far from over.
The proposed site is right beside the Fraser River.
Opponents say it doesn’t make sense to put a huge potential environmental hazard along-side salmon spawning grounds.
They say there is no other place in North American where this type of facility would be allowed to be so close to a river.
They took the city of Chilliwack to court over about the project, but lost.
