PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – A public inquest into the death of man in Prince Albert, Sask. is scheduled to take place this week. In November 2012, Billy Ballantyne, 44,  felt ill and was taken by ambulance to the Prince Albert Victoria Union Hospital.

Later that evening, hospital security reported a disturbance and officers came and transported the man to a police cell. A few hours later, Ballantyne was having trouble breathing and an ambulance was called.

He died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

The coroner’s jury could make recommendations to prevent similar deaths from happening.
