CALGARY – Police are investigating the second armed robbery in just two days at a northwest hotel.
Investigators were first called to the Aloft hotel on Tuesday after thieves used handguns to threaten staff, demanding they hand over cash from their VLTs.
On Thursday, officers again rushed to the hotel in the 2300 block of Banff Trail N.W. for reports of an armed robbery.

They say two men wearing hoodies entered the hotel just before 10:30 p.m., deploying pepper spray and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.
About half an hour later, police responded to the Bridgeland CTrain station after receiving calls that two passengers on a train matched the description of the suspects.
All of the train cars were evacuated, but police eventually determined the men spotted on the LRT were not the suspects they were searching for.
Police have not said if they believe the same people are responsible for both robberies.
