CALGARY – Charges that include endangering the safety of an aircraft have been laid after a laser was allegedly pointed at the Calgary police helicopter overnight.
Police say the chopper was helping with an overnight disturbance call in a northeast neighbourhood when a green light was flashed at the crew.

Officers arrested a Calgary resident after they were able to pinpoint where the light was coming from.
David Palvialok, who is 35, is also charged with obstructing a police officer, mischief and creating a hazard to aviation safety.
Last month, two flights on final approach to the Calgary airport were hit by a laser beam that police think was flashed from a southeast area of the city.
No flight crew members were injured and both aircraft landed safely.
