VERNON — It’s a strange place for a pepper spray attack.
Vernon RCMP are looking for a suspect after he opened up a can of pepper spray at the Vernon Recreational Complex.
The incident happened shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday in the men’s change room.
The suspect ran out the back door.
“All swimmers had been evacuated from the pool area as a precaution,” says Vernon RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk.
“One 19-year-old man did get pepper sprayed and staff and one of our officers helped him get decontaminated at the pool.”
Police are asking for anyone with information about the incident to give them a call.
