What do you get when you place a trailer truck, a Lotus Formula 1 race car, and a ramp on an empty road? Well, you get a world record and a viral video with over 5.6 million views to boot.
Cloud computing company EMC joined forces with the Lotus F1 team to dream up a this record-breaking stunt.
Stunt drivers Mike Ryan and Martin Ivanov got behind the wheels of the custom-designed truck and the race car respectively, and with jaw-dropping speed and precision, successfully launched the truck 83 feet and 7 inches down the track while the F1 car sped by underneath it.

Ryan masterminded the stunt and is known for his stunt work with heavy trucks. He called the maneuver his “dream stunt” and believes it’s the first time it has ever been attempted.

Both he and Ivanov have extensive stunt driving credits in film series such as The Fast and the Furious , James Bond, and The Bourne trilogy.
So why bother to risk crushing a state of the art, multimillion dollar race car, and not to mention, its driver? “In the spirit of pushing boundaries,” writes EMC, hoping they could demonstrate how they “redefine motorsports.”
After the stunt was completed successfully, Ivanov expressed that he felt “joy and happiness” that all went well.
