Pretty prints, lush draping in artistic offerings from Lauren Bagliore

TORONTO – Bathed in shades of black, white and grey, Lauren Bagliore brought an artistic touch to her luxurious range of flowing yet tailored garments unveiled at Toronto’s LG Fashion Week on Friday.

The spring-summer collection was heavy on the use of draping, adding a fluidity to toga-style tops and bias cut dresses in both matte and silky viscose jersey. Bagliore added a different dimension to the typically conventional Grecian-style draping, notably with soft fabric knotting as accents incorporated into the garments.

But it was her use of pretty, custom patterns that were the most effective, whether standalone in large-scale grafitti tortoise print or the more inventive and eye-popping fusion of check prints and abstract florals in satiny silk charmeuse dresses.

Also in the mix were a variety of separates, such as a nylon trench, dhoti-style pants striped-menswear trousers.
