Pedestrian ticketed after being struck by car in Dartmouth

HALIFAX – A pedestrian faces charges of public intoxication after being struck by a vehicle in Dartmouth.

Police say the incident happened at 8:45 on Thursday when a 30-year old man ran out into the intersection of Frances Street and Victoria Road.

He was not in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle.

Police say the 45-year female driver did not have enough time to stop for the man.

The man was taken to hospital but police say he did not have any major injuries.

He was also issued a ticket for failing to yield right of way to the vehicle in addition to public intoxication.
