Family of missing Oak Haven, N.B. woman issues public plea for information

OAK HAVEN, N.B. – The family of a missing New Brunswick woman has issued a public plea for information in the case.

“Our family has been living through a nightmare,” said Dorothy Tucker’s sister-in-law, Cheryl Tucker. She fought back tears as she read a statement from the family.

Fifty-three year-old Tucker of Oak Haven was last seen on Nov. 9, and police say foul play might have been involved.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“We await news every minute that she has been found. Instead those minutes go by and still no word,” Tucker said.

“It is troubling to hear that the RCMP believe someone might be involved in her disappearance for anyone who knows Dorothy they know she is a kind woman who would do anything for anyone.”

The RCMP arrested one man for questioning but they later released him.

The Mounties have also seized three vehicles owned by Tucker and forensic experts are examining them for evidence.

“That evidence cannot be made public at this time as only the person or persons involved in her disappearance would be aware of it,” said RCMP Cpl. Chantal Farrah.

Police have conducted an extensive ground and aerial search of a wide area near her home and divers have also searched the waters off the Bayside wharf.
