TORONTO – Netflix has released a new version of its mobile app that allows video streaming on Android devices in Canada.
Netflix already had an app to watch movies and TV shows on iPads and iPhones in Canada, and the company now supports Android phones and tablets here.

A spokesman says the app supports the Android 2.2 and up and 3.x operating systems.
He would not say whether the company is working on a version for Research in Motion’s BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
Netflix has more than 25 million members in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
