KELOWNA — Despite talk of it not coming back, organizers say the Centre of Gravity festival will be returning to Kelowna for its eighth year — with some changes and a new partner.
Festival director Scott Emslie, says his company, Wet Ape Productions, is teaming up with a Canadian company called Union Events.
“Union Events is the perfect fit in the continued growth of Canada’s hottest beach festival,” says Emslie in a news release issued Tuesday.
Emslie had hinted that Centre of Gravity might not return to Kelowna because the festival was losing money.
However, there is one casualty. Emslie’s Keloha Music & Arts Festival will not be returning next year. He says parts of the festival will be blended in with the Centre of Gravity Festival.
Emslie says it’s a win-win situation.
“We’ve put some key pieces in place that will be the foundation for one of the greatest festival experiences in Western Canada.”
He says ticket prices and festival lineup will be released in early 2015.
