NIAGARA FALLS – A man faces multiple charges after police say he lit a makeshift bomb that failed to explode in a Niagara Falls, Ont. hotel.
Police say they were called around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when someone in the hotel spotted a fire in the office area.
They say the flames were quickly put out.
Police say they found a hotel guest had lit a makeshift explosive in the office before running back to his room.
Investigators say his room smelled like gasoline but it was determined there was no threat to people in or around the hotel.
Jason Saunders, 43, is charged with arson, using explosives with intent to do bodily harm, threatening, and mischief endangering life.
