WINNIPEG – Andrea Giesbrecht, the woman accused of hiding the remains of six infants in a Winnipeg storage locker, now faces unrelated fraud charges.
Giesbrecht is charged with fraud over and under $5,000. She is accused of making false statements to social welfare and writing a bad check, said Greg Brodsky, her lawyer.
The charges are connected to events in 2012 and 2013.
Giesbrecht already faced a breach of probation charge.
Giesbrecht’s next court date in the dead babies case is Wednesday.
The remains were found by staff taking inventory on a storage locker Giesbrecht rented. She had stopped paying for the space.
