EDMONTON – Two men from Fort McMurray have been charged after RCMP officers responded to an abduction complaint outside a downtown nightclub.
A woman called police, saying she had been abducted outside the Fort McMurray nightclub in the early morning hours of Nov. 3.
The RCMP says an 18-year-old woman and 21-year-old man were parked outside the club when two men approached their vehicle.
There was a fight, and the 21-year-old man was assaulted and pulled from the vehicle.
The woman was told to drive away with the two suspects in the vehicle.
Officers found the vehicle and pulled it over.
When one RCMP member approached the passenger side to arrest the man, he was assaulted.
A witness, who was driving by at the time, pulled over to help the officer.
Troy Kreiger, 45, has been charged with several offences including assaulting a police officer.
Bryan Ethier, 28, has been charged with assault.
The men are both in custody and will appear in court Nov. 26.
