Saskatchewan flu clinics are now open for residents who want a free influenza vaccination.

Risk groups include adults over the age of 65, people with chronic health conditions or severe obesity, pregnant women, and children under the age of two.

“The vaccine works for about six months but it needs to be administered every year to provide ongoing protection,” said Karen Grauer, Manager of Disease Control for Public Health Services.

People are asked to bring their health card and any available immunization records.

If people are experiencing a moderate to severe illness with or without a fever, it is best to delay immunization.
