PHOTOS: Canadian military medical training exercise at CFB Wainwright

EDMONTON — Canadian military medical teams were in action in Wainwright Wednesday in a special training exercise.

The men and women were taking part in a very realistic battle training exercise called ‘Devouring Serpent.’ The exercise involves simulating injuries that will occur in combat.

Global Edmonton’s Gord Steinke took part, getting a behind-the-scenes look, in his role as Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel.

For the past week, troops have stayed in tents on site. About 140 men and women took part in the exercise.
