MONTREAL – Mayor Denis Coderre has taken to his Twitter to ask the city’s police force to put their uniforms back on.

This comes after two attacks were made on military personnel this week.

“For security, vigilance and solidarity reasons, it is time for our police officers to put their uniforms back on,” he tweeted.

The first attack was on Monday in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu when 25-year-old Martin Rouleau-Couture purposely ran his vehicle into two soldiers, killing 53-year-old Patrice Vincent.
