Ikea Canada is recalling more than 6,500 children’s folding tents because of a safety hazard.

The company said Thursday the steel wire frame of the BUSA tent can break during use. That can leave the sharp wire ends protruding through the tent fabric, Ikea said in a news release.

The defect poses a risk to children of a laceration or puncture-wound injury, the company said.

Ikea said it is aware one minor injury that’s been caused so far.

Anyone who has purchased one of the 6,763 such tents sold in Canada is being asked to immediately stop using it and to return it to an Ikea store for a full refund.

The recalled tents have model number 90192009. BUSA, Ikea and the model number are printed on a sewn-in label.
