Construction site accident claims life of worker

MANKOTA, Sask. – An investigation has been launched after a workplace death at a Saskatchewan construction site on Tuesday afternoon.

Ponteix RCMP were called to the site on Highway 18 approximately two kilometres west of Mankota around 12:30 p.m.

A 43-year-old Kelvington man working at the site became trapped under machinery.

He died at the scene as a result of his injuries. His name is not being released at this time.

Highway 18 was closed for over six hours while an investigation was carried out.

Occupational Health and Safety is now investigating.
