UPDATE: Saskatchewan sewer company fined after two Calgary men die in workplace accident
FOX VALLEY, Sask. – A workplace accident Monday in Fox Valley, Sask. has claimed two lives.
RCMP say it happened around 6:20 p.m. when three men were working on sewer lines near the west access road to the community in southwestern Saskatchewan.
Two men fell 12 feet down into the sewer lines and a partial collapse occurred.

A 25-year-old Calgary man was pulled to the surface by emergency crews and rushed to a Maple Creek hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
First responders were unable to immediately access the sewer lines to due to noxious fumes. A farmer used equipment to lift the second man to the surface.

The 24-year-old man, also from Calgary, was declared dead at the scene.
Their names have not been released.
Both were working for an unnamed Swift Current company.
Mounties say there were high winds, rain and sleet at the time of the accident but it is unknown if those were factors.
The investigation has been turned over to Occupational Health and Safety and autopsies are scheduled.
