FORT WORTH, Texas – The family of the first Ebola victim to die in the United States says the Dallas hospital that cared for him has refused for weeks to release additional medical records, in a sign the facility mishandled the Liberian man’s treatment.
Thomas Eric Duncan died at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital on Oct. 8. His sister Mai Wureh obtained more than 1,450 pages of medical records.

She has asked for lab results since Duncan’s first dosage of an experimental drug.
Doctors note in the records that Wureh and her son Josephus Weeks were hospital contacts and decision makers. But Wureh says that in follow-up calls the hospital said it could only provide records to Duncan’s son, Karsiah Eric Duncan.
Spokesman Wendell Watson says the hospital will be “reaching out and providing the requested information.”
