HALIFAX – Two people are facing charges of confinement and assault after a man and woman said they were held against their will in Halifax.
Police say a 20-year-old woman reported that she and a 25-year-old man had been held inside an apartment early Thursday.
Police say they later found the man at another apartment, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
They say a chain and a knife believed to have been used to assault the man were found at one of the apartments.
They believe it was not a random act since the people involved know one another.
Thirty-five-year-old Ryan Harvey Lyman and 36-year-old Nicholas Duncan McCabe were due in court to face charges of forcible confinement, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Twenty-two-year-old Maryssa Danielle Poirier is facing charges of being a party to the offences.
