There’s bad mistakes, really bad mistakes – and then there’s misspelling a four-letter word on some road paint.
Incredibly, a distracted (or seriously misinformed) road worker in Aurora, Colorado managed to misspell the word “Stop” on a road leaving a Sam’s Club parking lot.
A local KUSA News chopper just happened to be in the area Friday when they noticed the mistake.
Strangely, the word is spelled correctly in the next lane, leaving one to wonder how they could have spelled it incorrectly just a few feet away.
Yet, as the local station points out, people still seem to be following the direction to “sotp” at the roadway, so the road indication is still doing its job despite the grammatical flub.
As opposed to, say, the road crew in Virginia who decided to take a page out of the Pablo Piccaso playbook with some wacky and wavy lane lines on I-66 – with predictably dangerous results for motorists.
The Sam’s Club did not respond to KUSA’s requests for comment.
So at the end of the day, this is less “gotcha” and more “isn’t that strange?” After all, when was the last time you really “sotped” to look at the spelling of road signs, anyways?
