Mark Donnelly’s on-ice fall goes viral

WATCH: Donnelly talks to BC1‘s Geoff Hastings about his fall

Mr. O Canada may always hit the high notes, but his performance took a tumble in Penticton Friday night.

Instead of the regular footwear Mark Donnelly chose ice skates for his rendition of “O Canada” ahead of the home opener for the Penticton Vees.

Just as Donnelly belted out the first line of Canada’s national anthem and soared across the ice, he did not seem to notice the ceremonial carpet was straight in his way and took a bad fall.

As a true professional, the incident did not cause Donnelly to miss a beat. He kept the anthem going, eventually getting the crowd to sing along.
