WINNIPEG-An unwelcome surprise for some living in southeastern Manitoba Friday.
Amanda Buhse tweeted these pictures of snow falling on Brereton Lake, east of Winnipeg in the Whiteshell.
The snow comes as much of Manitoba saw a major shift in weather going into the weekend. The shift is thanks to a cold front pushing across western Manitoba. A chance of showers will continue for Winnipeg and southern Manitoba into the weekend. Winds will continue to be a factor gusting to 70 kilometres per hour.
Winds are especially concerning over Lakes Manitoba and Winnipeg. The province issued a severe wind alert for the Interlake warning that strong northerly winds and significant wave action could cause lake levels to rise up to five feet over the south basins.
