Jewish General Hospital welcomes profound changes to health care proposed in Bill 10

MONTREAL – The Jewish General Hospital (JGH) issued a press release late Monday responding favorably to the health care reorganization announced Thursday, September 25 by Health Minister Gaétan Barrette.

The reform calls for the closing of all of the province’s Agences de la santé et services sociaux and the reorganization of the delivery of care across Quebec.

“This unprecedented announcement will bring profound changes to the way health care delivery is managed in Quebec,” said Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg, Executive Director.

“I believe the proposed restructuring will help improve the continuum of care to all who set foot into any medical facility in the province.”

The press release continues: “the JGH welcomes the opportunity to join the new Centre Integré de la santé et services sociaux (CISSS) Centre de l’Île with its new partners from the west end of Montreal. These health care institutions provide complementary services with the common goal to provide exemplary care for all patients.
