MONTREAL – According to a Leger Marketing survey for Le Devoir, Pierre Karl Péladeau is the front-runner to replace Pauline Marois as the leader of the Parti Québécois.
Péladeau has not officially declared his candidacy.

Nevertheless, the poll puts him at 53 per cent support.
The five other possible candidates, including Bernard Drainville, Jean-François Lisée Véronique Hivon, Nicolas Marceau and Martine Ouellette, are much further behind Péladeau with just two to seven per cent of support each.

The poll also shows 61 per cent of PQ voters say a referendum on independence should be held later rather than sooner because the issue is not a priority right now.
