• An arrest has been made in connection to the stabbing death of a 19-year-old student at a Toronto high school on Tuesday. Police say a suspect is in custody after Hamid Aminzada was stabbed inside a hallway of North Albion Collegiate in Etobicoke around noon.
• It was a raucous mayoral debate Tuesday night between John Tory, Doug Ford, and Olivia Chow which saw the event stalled for 25 minutes as police removed a heckler from the premises. It was Ford’s first debate since replacing his brother Rob who is battling cancer.
• BlackBerry’s newest smartphone is expected to take centre stage during a global launch event widely seen as the company’s latest attempt to regain its dwindling user base.
• A ringleader of the so-called Toronto 18 who plotted to storm Parliament and behead politicians is now seeking parole.
• York Region police are searching for three suspects after a man was shot and killed late Tuesday night in Vaughan.
• Police are searching for suspects after a man was shot in Toronto Tuesday evening. The incident happened just after 10 p.m. near a community centre in the area of Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue.
• Jose Bautista scored three times and R.A. Dickey had his sixth straight quality start. But the smiles faded shortly after the game when Kansas City completed a 7-1 win over Cleveland, a result that officially eliminated Toronto from post-season contention.
