SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Police Service is warning the public Monday of a synthetic drug of unknown origin that is possibly being sold on city streets.

The coroner’s office is assisting with the investigation.

Some Oxycontin 80 pills have been seized and are being tested. Oxycontin 80 is not readily available and police believe the pills on the street are counterfeit.

Officials say the pills may contain unknown deadly ingredients.

Pills are described as having a round convex shape, blue/green in colour with ‘80’ on one side and ‘CDN’ on the other.

Police are reminding people that taking any drug that has not been prescribed by a licensed physician could pose a serious health risk.
