Both classic cars recovered after theft near Yorkton, Sask.

YORKTON, Sask. – RCMP are have recovered two classic cars that were stolen from a storage Quonset in Saskatchewan.

On Friday night, the stolen 1969 Firebird was recovered by RCMP from a Quonset near York Road in Yorkton, Sask.

At 1 a.m. on Saturday, RCMP recovered the second vehicle, a 1976 Dodge Dart, at an abandoned farm north of Grenfell, Sask. off of Highway 47.

Police say charges are pending as the investigation continues.

Earlier this week, Mounties said three suspects stole the antique vehicles from a storage Quonset 22 kilometres southwest of Yorkton with a dually truck and a flat bed trailer.

The recovery of the vehicles was a joint effort between RCMP, Yorkton Provincial GIS, Saskatoon RCMP, Saskatoon Provincial GIS and Indian Head RCMP.

Yorkton is approximately 305 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.
