TORONTO — Bollywood duo Salim-Sulaiman will kick off their first ever North American tour in Vancouver on Nov. 1 and will make stops in Calgary and Toronto.
The award-winning musical siblings, Salim Merchant and Sulaiman Merchant, have composed scores for a long list of Bollywood movies as well as this year’s drama Sold starring Gillian Anderson and David Arquette.
The pair have also written music for several Indian pop stars, including Viva and Asmaan. They performed at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in 2010.
Salim-Sulaiman will tour with their band and singers Vipul Mehta (winner of Indian Idol) and Shweta Pandit.
The tour begins Nov. 1 at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre and includes shows on Nov. 8 show in Calgary and Nov. 9 at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto. It will also play San Jose, Atlanta and Houston.
