“You are the best brother one could have – you have been at Mayor Ford’s side, no matter what,” wrote Michele Sacco. “Mayor Ford and you will prevail.”

Doug Ford replaced his brother Rob in the mayoral race after he was diagnosed with an abdominal tumour last week.

Doctors revealed on Wednesday that the mayor has a rare from of cancer called liposarcoma and will spend the next few days undergoing his first round of chemotherapy.

Doug’s campaign has been stalled as the Ford family continues to deal with Rob’s health.

It’s expected the mayoral race will kick into high gear in the coming days.
