It was a scary situation in Langley Saturday after a construction worker was run over by a steam roller.

It happened in the 8300-block of 208th Street.

A construction crew was laying asphalt when a worker was run over and crushed by a two-ton steam roller.

When crews arrived, the victim was conscious and breathing.

Firefighters, RCMP officers and paramedics worked together to free him.

He was taken to hospital with what are believed to be lower body injuries.

Langley RCMP are investigating.
