A brush fire is burning on top of Mt. Blinkhorn near Metchosin.
Crews spent Friday night fighting the blaze and returned Saturday morning to continue their efforts. 4o firefighters are on scene.
A helicopter has been shuttling water back and forth. Officials say they are trying to have the perimeter of the fire “fully managed” by 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The fire is 6.5 hectares in size, and the cause is unknown.
