EDMONTON – An autopsy completed on a 19-year-old man found dead on Fox Drive early Saturday morning determined that being hit by a vehicle likely killed him.
The medical examiner’s office said the fatal injuries were “consistent with traffic collision injuries.”
Foul play is not suspected, but the medical examiner has asked for a toxicology test.
Officers were called to Fox Drive around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday. Witnesses told them that several vehicles drove by what appeared to be an “object” in the middle of the road, before one vehicle appeared to strike what turned out to be a man. His body was dragged a short distance.
Investigators had to determine whether the man died at the scene or was dropped off there.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Anyone who might have witnessed the collision – which happened between 1:30 and 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 13 – is asked to call police at 780-423-4567.
