Regina man facing impaired driving charges after taking down power lines

REGINA – A 44 year-old Regina man is facing impaired driving charges after crashing his truck into a power pole Wednesday night.

Police say the man’s Ford Ranger truck sheared off the pole at 4th Avenue and St. John Street, causing it to hang over the roadway.

Police found the driver a short time later and arrested him without incident.

Forty-four year-old John Jim Sherwood is facing an impaired driving charge, and a failure to provide a breath sample charge.

SaskPower was notified that there were power lines down in the street and came to repair them.

SaskPower was able to clean up the power lines but the cost of the damage is expected to be significant.
