EDMONTON – A wide variety of provincial registry services are currently unavailable across Alberta due to an information system failure that occurred Thursday morning.
While vehicle registration is still available, driver’s licence renewals, corporate registry access, SPIN II, land titles, personal property registry access, online fine payment, and vital statistics services are not.

Service Alberta spokeswoman Sharon Lopetka said what happened is not yet certain.
“We’re investigating that. We don’t know what the cause is at this point,” said Lopatka. “It’s our first priority to get the systems up and running and that’s our first priority.”
Lopetka said the glitch affects approximately 220 registries across the province.
