An older home in the community of Inglewood has been gutted by a fire that broke out late Friday night.
Crews were called to the 900 block of 8th Avenue SE around 11:45 p.m. They initially started attacking the fire inside the house, but were forced outside when the structure became unstable.
Damage to the building is extensive, and the home will likely need to be torn down.
A large area surrounding the home is blocked off while crews continue to monitor for flare-ups; traffic on 9th Street SE and on 8th Avenue SE is affected.
No word on what sparked the blaze.
