Alberta PC leadership hopefuls release fundraising totals

EDMONTON – The final two candidates in the Alberta Tory leadership race have released their fundraising totals.

Ric McIver’s team reports he has raised more than $417,000, while Thomas Lukaszuk has garnered over $300,000.

The third candidate, Jim Prentice, has already announced he raised $1.8 million.

Voting begins Friday to pick the new leader to replace former premier Alison Redford.

Results will be announced Saturday.

If no candidate gets more than 50 per cent of the votes, the top two finishers move to a final round of voting two weeks from now.
