NEAR FINTRY – A fire Monday morning has destroyed a home in a rural area of the north Okanagan.

North Westside Fire Rescue got a report just after 9:00 a.m. of flames and smoke coming from a home on Pinecrest Road in the Westshore Estates sub-division just off Westside Road.

When crews arrived flames were shooting through the roof.

A neighbour tells Global Okanagan News the adult male resident ran from the home yelling “fire” and admitted to cooking marijuana oil.
