Suspect in Tuscany shooting arrested in Ontario

CALGARY – Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to a shooting in the community of Tuscany over the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Tuscany Springs Hill N.W. around 4 a.m. on Sunday.

The victim, a woman in her 40’s, was rushed to hospital where she remains in critical but stable condition.

Officials said the suspect, who is known to the victim, fled the scene in a white Dodge caravan.

Police issued a Canada-wide warrant for 51-year-old Ulises Boris Quinteros, who was arrested in Ontario on Monday.

He was pulled over by Ontario Provincial Police in Kenora just before 1 a.m.

The community is about 50 kilometers east of the Manitoba-Ontario border.

Quinteros is charged with the following offences:

  • Attempted murder
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Discharge of firearm with intent to wound, maim, disfigure
  • Choking with intent
  • Break and enter with the intent to harass
