Work has started on a major motion picture that is being entirely shot in the Okanagan.
On Wednesday, the cast and crew of Flicka 3 began shooting at a local equestrian centre.
“It’s incredible,” said director Michael Damian. “The Okanagan is gorgeous. I’ve never shot in a more beautiful location. Just to have the lake, to have the mountains and the incredible weather, it’s a dream.”

Almost all of the crew members are based in Vancouver but many are originally from the Okanagan and were delighted for the chance to work close to home.
“As soon as we said we were going to Kelowna and the Okanagan, many people from Vancouver said ‘sign me up!’,” said Tom Siegrist with 20th Century Fox.
“The weather is beautiful and the residents have welcomed us,” said producer Connie Dolphin.
While most of the filming will take place at local farms and equestrian centres, some scenes were shot in downtown Kelowna.
The shooting of Flicka 3 is set to wrap up at the end of the month.
The movie is supposed to be set in Wyoming but the producers say the Okanagan has very similar scenery.
The movie features country music star Clint Black and his wife Lisa Hartmann.
