WATCH: Video posted to Facebook shows possible tornado touching down in Erin
TORONTO – Environment Canada is investigating two possible tornadoes in southern Ontario that may have touched down following storms in the last few days.
The first may have touched down in Erin Tuesday night.
A video of the phenomena was posted on Facebook and has since been shared hundreds of times by weather enthusiasts.
Environment Canada officials have started a preliminary investigation as to whether a tornado touched down in the area but have not yet sent crews to the area.
Meanwhile, the weather agency does have investigators in Essex County near Windsor checking to see if a tornado touched down there during severe weather Tuesday.
The two tornadoes, if confirmed, would be the fourteenth and fifteenth to have hit Ontario in 2014.
